Hilary Sample is currently an Associate Professor, at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Prior to joining Columbia, Ms. Sample taught at Yale University, SUNY Buffalo, where she was awarded the Reyner Banham Teaching Fellowship, and the University of Toronto. She is a founding principal of MOS, an interdisciplinary architecture and design practice based in New York City. Projects designed in her office have been published widely; have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, The Chicago Biennial, YAP PS1/MoMA, and are held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Yale Art Gallery; and have received numerous awards, including an Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Her research focuses on the intersection of architecture, health, environments, technology, and design.
